For Partners - What Sex Coaching Really Means

If your partner found this site, or mentioned she's thinking about sex coaching - you might have questions. That's completely understandable.

    First, take a breath

If you're here, it's probably because the woman in your life is exploring something that might feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable to you. You might be wondering what this means, what will happen, or what's expected of you. Here's what I want you to know:

"Her wanting to work on this is very likely a good thing for your relationship. Sex coaching isn't about fixing problems or blaming anyone. It's about understanding, reconnection, and growth. Many women come to me feeling disconnected from their own desire, and wanting to find their way back."

    And that takes courage.

    What sex coaching actually is

    It IS

    • Educational conversations about desire and sexuality
    • A safe space to explore feelings without judgment
    • Practical strategies and communication tools
    • Support for understanding her own body and needs
    • 100% confidential and professional

    It is NOT

    • Therapy or counselling (though it can complement these)
    • Anything physical or inappropriate
    • A sign that something is "wrong" with either of you
    • Couples therapy (unless specifically requested)
    • About blame or criticism of you

    Questions you might have

Will she expect me to join her sessions?

Not unless both of you want that. Most of my clients work with me individually. What happens in sessions is confidential. If couples work becomes appropriate, I'll discuss that with her first, and it's always optional.

What actually happens in sex coaching?

Sex coaching is educational and supportive - it's conversations, not physical. We talk about understanding desire, communication, confidence, and practical strategies. There's no nudity, no physical contact, nothing weird. It's like having a very honest, informed friend who specialises in this stuff.

Is this because there's something wrong with me?

No. If your partner is seeking sex coaching, it's usually because SHE wants to reconnect with herself, not because you've done something wrong. Many women feel disconnected from their desire due to life changes, stress, hormones, or simply never understanding how their body works. This is about her journey.

Will she tell me everything that happens?

That's up to her. Sessions are confidential, but many women choose to share insights with their partners. She might come home with new ideas, conversation starters, or things she's learned about herself. But there's no pressure for her to share anything she's not ready to.

    How can I support her?

The best thing you can do is be patient, non-judgmental, and open. Don't pressure her to share details. Be willing to have conversations she might initiate. Take any homework or suggestions seriously. And remember, her working on this is a positive sign for your relationship.

What if I have questions or concerns?

You're welcome to reach out to me directly. While I can't share details about your partner's sessions, I'm happy to answer general questions about what sex coaching involves and how you might support her journey.

    How to be supportive

    1

    Don't take it personally

Her desire to work on this isn't a criticism of you. It's about her relationship with herself, which ultimately benefits your relationship together.

    2

    Be patient

Change takes time. There might be conversations, new ideas, or things she wants to try. Stay open without expecting immediate results.

    3

    Listen without fixing

If she shares something with you, listen first. Resist the urge to immediately solve problems. Sometimes she just needs to be heard.

    4

    Ask how you can help

A simple "Is there anything I can do to support you?" goes a long way. Then actually do it.
